Master Carpet company (Qld) Pty Ltd commenced operations in Queensland in 1972 as an extension of the successful Sydney Company of the same name. Some of the more notable and current contracts completed by the new entity are:- Aqua Apartments - Gold Coast Q1 - Gold Coast Circle on Cavill - Gold Coast Rivers on the Park Brisbane Chevron Renaissance II Sunnybank Private Hospital - Brisbane Gold Coast Convention Centre Townsville Airport Inverpine Nursing Home - Sunshine Coast Treasury Casino Refurbishment - Brisbane Marriott Hotel - Brisbane Underwater World - Sunshine Coast Platinum Apartments - Gold Coast Versace Hotel - Gold Coast A close knit, effective and efficient unit has emerged which is second to none. Several large ongoing contracts with the State Government have been won, specifically Department of Public Works & Housing (carpet and vinyl) and Q Build Brisbane Metropolitan Region (Education Department carpet and vinyl). In July 1998 Master Carpet Company relocated their Head Office and warehouse to Yatala to accommodate continued anticipated growth. As part of this growth plan, Master Kelwin Floors established a branch operation on the Sunshine Coast in November 2000. Continued growth resulted in the opening of a retail store in Nambour in November 2002 and in Townsville 2006 and most recently Tweed Heads South in March this year. It also became evident to us that there was a need for a professional floor preparation company, so in March 2004 we established Master Floor Preparers, which already employs eighteen people.
